Thistle Magazine

The beautiful, whimsical Thistle Magazine describes itself as an "optimistic, inspirational magazine about incorporating beauty, craft, and motivation throughout your daily life," and there are no better words to describe her.

Thistle's seasonal issues feature a well-curated selection of gorgeous dreamland photography, sweet illustration, film reviews, interviews, and poetry & fiction.

Perfectly twee yet never cloying, it's practically meant for lazy rainy-day reading.

Their new Fall issue is curated around the theme "Obsession," and we couldn't be more excited!  We love collections and passionate people are our favorite people, so we couldn't wait to see what the editors have selected to share this season.

Featured illustrator: Michelle Macias

We are loving illustrator Michelle Macias' whimsical "We Are All Princesses" series she's been posting on her Tumblr.

Feminine & Walt Disney-inspired yet dreamy & a bit melancholy, the illustrations feature modern girls attended to by fairy tale forest creatures and flowers.

They seem out-of-place, as if thrown into the 21st century from their cottage in the forest--a feeling that is reiterated with Michelle's use of sketchy pencil lines combined with sharp CG color.

They are she and reverie girls like us: those modern fairy tale princesses, those girls who go to the shops with flowers in their hair and see butterflies flutter when they close their eyes.
